Unless you just by a reusable Ear Piercer at a beauty Supply store, and buy the cartridges to go in it, to pierce your ears with...Then it's not so much hassle!
Of course, over the course of my 19 years of existance...I've had my ears pierced four times. The first three, all had closed up, and the fourth time it's lasted the longest.
/start of longish detail of ear piercing history
5 years old: Grandmother did it with an old piercing gun. Hurt like hell. Got tired of them a few months later, and took them out and they closed up
3rd grade (8/9 years old): Got them done at...Walmart I think (I think..). Right ear got infectedish (Also can wear Pure gold, or Surgical Steel or Tungsten; anything else...is bad)...almost engulfed the earring, had to get it almost surgically removed. Walked around with one earring in, and the fourth grade guys thought it was super cool to see a girl walking around with one earring. Soon after, took the left out and it closed up
7th grade (12/13 years old): Got them done at the mall in a store. Took really good care of them. Put in French Wires before I should have...and over time they carved their way down my lobe. One night while sleeping they ripped all the way out (did not feel it..so it's fine)...and were closed up by the time I awoke. Have a scar line on both ears from it. And if you touch it, there is nothing between the scar line on the front and back, it's empty.
12th Grade (17 years old, a few months before my 18th): *insert begining paragraph here* My mother did it, on the top of the scar line. The left is higher than the right (can't tell if it's a big earring). Didn't hurt, Healed super fast. The right still likes to itch when I am wearing metal that I shouldn't wear (And after a while, it will hurt). The nice thing about this piercing...is that they HAVE yet to close up, and I have gone...like Months since I last wore earrings. Though they did shrink up a bit, because I used to be able to fit, two dangly earrings and a Post earring in one hole...But can't. Also can't wear Lever back earring because both holes are too high for it (but I like Dangly statement pieces, and Post Statement pieces...)
/end long story
I sorta wanna gauge my holes I have...Just need to get some 16 and 14 gauge to start out with~
